Funky Trunks continues to distinguish itself as a premier swimwear brand with unique aesthetic appeal. The latest gear I received from the new Colour Sphere collection did not disappoint. In this review, I compare two new styles from Funky Trunks, the marble effect Training Machine Goggles and the Rapid Rep Tank. Though unsurprisingly cool, the strengths of these products go beyond mere style. In fact, I found that both the goggles and the singlet share a remarkable slate of redeeming qualities:

• First of all, full marks for functionality. They cover my eyes and my nipples, respectively.
• They work the same in Australia and America, unlike cars, football, and the word 'thong'.
• Funky Trunks has ensured both products are available in All Black, while understandably not wasting its time with less successful colour schemes such as green and gold.
• They have both been carefully designed for maximum tan line definition.
• Both leave the biceps nicely exposed.
• Priced under AUS$30, both are less expensive and more fulfilling than watching a Wallabies test match.
• They are equally waterproof, although the goggles should not then be tumble dried.
• Both are fully adjustable - the goggles with the streamlined buckle on the back of the strap, the singlet with a convenient drop-down size menu on funkytrunks.com.
• Neither product fogs up during use, making for excellent visibility of things like the score of the 2015 Rugby World Cup final.
• Both help you see underwater. Except the singlet.
• They're not Speedo.
