F-Team set to fly the English flag

17 January 2018

Commonwealth Games
UK Funky Trunks F-Teamers are ready to smash their events at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

Last month at the English Winter meet the pressure was on, to not only swim fast but to claim one of few remaining spots to become part of Team England at the Commonwealth Games later this year.

Jacob Peters, Elliot Clogg and Joe Litchfield all made the cut and will join Max Litchfield on the Gold Coast.

Jacob Peters went into the meet hoping for success in the 100 butterfly but he surpassed all expectations in the 200 breaking the 17 year old age group British record, and secured the commonwealth games QT in a time of 1.57.16.

Joe Litchfield swam exceptionally at English Long course to earn his spot on the team and will no doubt join brother Max in both the 200 and 400 Individual Medley events.

Max Licthfiled missed the European Short Course due to injury however we have no doubt Max will be more eager to race this year and know he'll smash it for Team England. Max competed at the Glasgow 2014 Games so he's no rookie when it comes to Commonwealth swimming. Max also holds the Commonwealth record in the 400 individual Medley in a time of 4.10! The gold could very well be Max's!
